Today the NYU (New York University) Game Center posted up a very in-depth interview (~ 1 hr 20 mins long) with Valve’s Erik Wolpaw as a part of their game lecture series. The interview shows Wolpaw playing the game and talking about what motivated him and some of his thought processes that went into bringing the story and characters in Portal 2 to life. Later in the interview the discussion evolves more generally and Wolpaw shares his insight on the state of games today and the evolution of storytelling through games. All in all, it’s pretty interesting stuff. You can watch the video below.
