EA Sports: “Really excited” about new studio in Texas

by July 19, 2011 in PC, PlayStation, Sports, Wii, Xbox

EA Sports is going to open a new studio in Austin, Texas. According to the company’s official announcement Austin is “consistently recognized as one of the most inventive, creative, wired and rockin’ cities in America”. This new expansion will create 300 new jobs, half of these will be contract and the rest permanent.

EA Games Label boss Frank Gibeau said:
“Austin is a terrific place for us to do business. Frankly we just love building games in Austin. The talent is world-class and [Texas governor Rick] Perry and the Texas Legislature have created a very business-friendly environment for us.”

EA Sports studio will be the 2nd EA studio after the Bioware studio (known from Dragon Age, and Mass effect 2) in Austin. Hopefully the “most inventive, creative, wired and rockin’” city in America will generate some more awesome sport games in the future.
