Today at GamesCon EA also dropped the latest trailer showing off some pre-alpha footage of the upcoming SSX snowboarding title and detailing some of the game’s multiplayer modes.
One mode is called Explore Mode, where you can drop in via helicopter and ride world renowned mountains. After you complete a run the game creates a ghost rider replay of your run and uploads your best performance so that all other players can see it and play it back irregardless of whether you’re at your console online or not. Other players can then compete against the ghost and if they beat the best run then they in turn move up the leader-board and leave the next ghost to beat.
There’s also a mode known as Global Events where they claim it will support up to 100,000 players at once live. Sounds interesting. EA also announced the so called Ridernet social network which will allow you follow your friends and “like” or comment on their performances.
All in all it’s very unrealistic and arcade but looks like fun. Check out the multiplayer pre-alpha footage trailer below.
