Motion is Out of Control

Playstation Move

There was coffee everywhere. I guess I should rewind a bit. I was listening to a podcast recently which was discussing Valve’s Steam Box and what we want to see in the next generation of consoles. It was when they said “more motion-control support and games!” that I proceeded to damage a lot of very expensive electronics by spitting my coffee…well…yeah we covered that part. With nothing to do with all my pent up rage towards motion control, I thought “what would an angry house-wife in the 1950s do?” and [...]

ITV uses ArmA 2 game footage in TV documentary and claims it’s real IRA footage

IRA paramilitary soldiers as seen on ITV

Talk about an epic failure from ITV and for 21st century journalism in general. Yesterday the British broadcaster ITV aired a TV documentary called “Exposure: Gaddafi and the IRA” which was available online here (although they’ve since taken it down) on the subject of Colonel Gaddafi’s support for the IRA (Irish Republican Army) in the 1980′s, as naturally everything Libya/Gaddafi related is in vogue these days and presumably good for TV ratings. The ITV documentary features a segment with supposed experts and narrators talking over straight up grainy and pixelated [...]

World at War for World of Planes of War

world-of-planes-warplanes

If that title confused the hell out of you don’t worry that’s normal it doesn’t make any sense to me either. The gist of this post is actually simply to show off the new MMO game World of Planes debut trailer which was released today and which we’ve embedded below this nonsensical text that follows. Of course it’s not just a World of “regular” Planes but rather the game is full of “war” planes, World War II era to be precise.

BIS Take On Helicopters Gameplay Demo Gamescom 2011

take-on-helicopters-gamescom

Here’s a new video posted up on the official Nvidia YouTube channel no less as part of their Gamescom 2011 coverage showing off some demo gameplay from Bohemia Ineractive’s Take On Helicopters game which understandably looks essentially identical to ArmA 2 (and likely ArmA 3) in pretty much all aspects. Although if you’re a big fan of flying helicopters in that game you’ll likely want to check this out.

Codemasters new F1 2011 “Season So Far” trailer

f1_2011_safetycar_amg

A couple days ago at the now finished Gamescom, Codemasters released their new F1 2011 promo trailer entitled “Season so Far” which we’ve included the video of below. While we came across it earlier we just didn’t get around to posting it until now. Sorry but better late than never right? Anyways Codemasters even went to the trouble of publicizing the fact that the video shows off for the first time some of that highly sought after Mercedes AMG safety car footage.

More ArmA 3 Screenshots from Gamescom 2011

arma3-screenshot-gamescom

BIS released 15 more screenshots today at Gamescom for their upcoming ArmA 3 title which is due for release in 2012. These come to add to the 5 “underwater” screenshots they released yesterday which we also posted up here. I don’t know why BIS couldn’t just release them all at once but I suppose they want to drag it out a bit to keep the chatter up, fair enough. Of course we’ve also come across a fan made video a few hours ago which shows off some demo footage filmed [...]

ArmA 3 fan made Gamescom video shows new gameplay

arma3-screenshot15-gamescom

A nice new 20 minute fan made video has surfaced online showing off some fresh new ArmA 3 footage which was recorded via handy cam at the modest Bohemia Interactive Studio (BIS) booth at Gamescom 2011. The video contains a small demonstration and explanation of some ArmA3 game features with explanations from one of the rather uninspired albeit friendly BIS representatives who was manning the booth at the time. While BIS didn’t release much media at Gamescom this year they did release a few new screenshots the other day also [...]

New Arma 3 Underwater Screenshots (GC 2011)

arma3-screenshot04-gamescom

New Arma 3 screenshots have emerged to the surface at the Gamescom 2011. The screenshots show the newly added underwater scene like we haven’t seen before, ship wrecks and plane wrecks laying silently on the bottom of the sea. Bohemia Interactive definitely made the right choice by finally adding the ability to go underwater, instead of the clumsy swimming and losing all of your gear at the same time. Arma III is scheduled for release exclusively for PC in Summer 2012. UPDATE: BIS also released 15 more screenshots the day [...]
