The trailer does not show any actual gameplay footage, although on the other hand it does show the main character “Jackie Estacado” (the current wielder of the darkness) that you will be playing throughout the actual game. “Victor Valente”, a mysterious figure who knows about the darkness isn’t left out either, he is after Jackie because he wants the [...]

The New FPS Genre – First Person Snooters

first-person-shooters

At some point in the past 5 years, the FPS genre became home to some of the snootiest players around fueled by exponential growth in the cry-baby demographic. Some professionals point to an abundance of titles, but the question remains: how do you get back on track when you never lost your way? In defending a genre with so many great games, we reluctantly name names for fear of leaving out a worthy franchise. Battlefield, Call of Duty, Half Life, Doom, Quake, Arma, Gears of War, Halo etc. Separately they [...]

green lantern

If the cries of gamers weren’t muffled by the walls of our basements, perhaps our protests wouldn’t fall on deaf ears: “We don’t even pay to use PSN, why should we pay to play your game?” To PS3 players, paying a monthly subscription for a game is still a stretch. It’s a big reason the concept didn’t fly with Sony’s MMORPG DC Universe Online. But put away your Bat-call of distress, it’s going free to play on both PS3 and PC this October.

TGS 2011: Street Fighter X Tekken Teaser Trailer

street fighter x tekken (2)

From Capcom and Namco, the latest Street Fighter X Tekken trailer features a mealy melee crossover of epic proportions (last fat joke, I promise). Straight from TGS, the Street Fighter universe welcomes re-imagined Tekken characters while staying faithful to the fighters’ traits and styles. This game represents the first of two crossover titles; now show us some gameplay footage of Bob X Rufus and we’ll avoid rioting like a fat man at the back of a buffet line (sorry). Street Fighter X Tekken is currently slated for a 2012 release [...]

Red Orchestra 2 Multiplayer Gameplay from Beta

red-orchestra-2-multiplayer

Red Orchestra 2 have uploaded a new video to their official YouTube channel showing off the upcoming RO2 Heroes of Stalingrad multi-player game-play footage from the beta version. All in all to be honest there’s not much to say about this one, it’s a tad repetitive and bland but if you’re really into the fairly realistic fast paced run and gun themed WW2 first person shooters there’s certainly a good chunk of multiplayer gameplay footage in this one which you’ll probably enjoy quite a bit. Kind of reminds me of [...]
