It was when they said “more motion-control support and games!” that I proceeded to damage a lot of very expensive electronics by spitting my coffee…well…yeah we covered that part. With nothing to do with all my pent up rage towards motion control, I thought “what would an angry house-wife in the 1950s do?” and [...]

Graphics vs. Gameplay – A Look Across Genres

fps batman

This week we take a look at some questions centered around the different genres of video games What is more important to a game’s success: good graphics or gameplay mechanics? They work together, not against each other. I doubt you even have the same development teams working on these two components to say which is prioritized during game creation. In my experience however, there have been great games that have had bad graphics but rarely have I found a gorgeous game you would call “great” with shitty controls – doesn’t [...]

Can You Run Skyrim?

skyrim-can-you-run-it

Today the minimum and recommended system requirements for Skyrim were released by Bethesda. According to the specs its recommended that you carry a quad-core cpu in your box as well as a video card with 1GB of RAM which is not as high-end as many people thought. Even I expected the specs to be a bit higher for this very promising game. But I think this will make a lot of Elder Scrolls fans happy that they don’t have to buy a new rig or update their current one.

The 10 Biggest Games of Fall 2011

ten-biggest-games-of-fall-2011

If I had a nickel for every big game due out this fall, I’d have several. And then I’d probably exchange them for quarters, because quarters are easier to carry. And even though that handful of chump change is worth more than Peter Molyneux’s word, you’re still going to need to know who will reign supreme this fall on console and PC. There’s no better way to convey that information than a list consisting of ten entries unveiling the top games, commonly referred to as a Top 10 list.

skyrim_mammoths

Well it seems Bethesda’s getting the E3 spotlight today. The most anticipated project they’re presenting this year is without a doubt Elder Scrolls V Skyrim. Today some exclusive new videos have been released via official E3 sponsor channels (GT, G4) which show off the game in all its glory.
